1. Cut out the Radar Operators wall pieces. There should be no overhang on the top and bottom of each piece, just leave a slight overhang on each end. By test fitting the aft pieces and holding the fuselage up to the light you will be able to mark out the exact area that needs to be cut for the window.

  1. Test fit all of the pieces and adjust as needed for a good fit.

  1. Using a Q-Tip, you can add the ladder bar to the Radar Operators compartment.

  1. Using a Dremel, cut out the holes in the piece for a good 3-D effect.

  1. Add your Q-Tip ladder and you’re finished with this compartment.

  1. Trim the nose wheel tub as shown.

  1. It is installed as shown, do not glue it in yet, set it aside until final assembly.

  1. Cut your rudder pedals as shown.

  1. With the instrument panel, I like to sand it down with my bench belt sander. Go slowly, but you want it pretty thin. Next finish it up with the appropriate bit on your Dremel.

  1. Do the same with the smaller lower panel. Then attach it to the main panel with Medium CA. Add some Micro-Balloons to the back to stiffen the glue joint up. The angle is really not that important, but you want it up high enough so your pilots legs will fit under it.

  1. For the manual hydraulic lever, cut a piece of electrical wire to a length of 2 ˝” and bend it as shown.

  1. Drill a small hole in the hump on the right side of the pilot seat that we previously installed a small piece of balsa. Adjust it so that it sits as shown in the picture.

That concludes the basic assembly of the cockpit pieces, now over to page 7 for the paint and detail work!
